Open Executive Board Positions

Parliamentarian
Assists the president to manage meetings and advises on parliamentary procedure. Chairs Bylaws committee to review unit Bylaws each year and revise bylaws every five years (next revision due in 2027). Arranges nominating committee’s first meeting, advises on nomination and election process. Entitled to all rights and privileges of membership, including the right to make motions, debate and vote
Open PTA Committee Chair & Coordinator Postions

Below are open Committee Chairs & Coordinator positions for Ladera STARS PTA

Events Chair
In close partnership with EB and school front office staff, support the planning and execution of key events throughout the year, to include general logistics, managing vendors, teaming up with volunteer coordinators and decor chair, etc.
Rewards Program Fundraising Chair
In charge of updating and monitoring our reward programs (BoxTops, Ralph rewards,etc). Communicates progress of programs to the PTA. Distributes material regarding programs to parents for participation. Manages the collection of material for the various programs. Plans, organizes, and coordinates volunteers for drives/contests (including tabulating results and determining prize) with input from school principal and PTA.
Open Event Coordinator Positions

Please note: Just because you sign up to lead the coordination of an event, does not mean you are expected to do it alone. Our PTA is very involved and we would help every step of the way including with planning and executing an event.

Reflections Coordinator
Would organize and then run the school Reflections program for Ladera STARS Academy (runs for first few months of the year and then done. .
Red Ribbon Week Coordinator
In charge of planning out and coordinating Red Ribbon Week. Makes a flyer to advertise the themed week of events & communicates flyer to PTA for distribution/advertisment
"Multicultural Night" Coordinator
One-time event position [Date TBD]; Will work with Ladera's community outreach liaison and the PTA board to organize and execute a family fun Multicultural Night for Ladera STARS Academy
Garden Cleanup/ Campus Beautification Day Coordinator
One-time event position [tentatively set for May]; Will work with Lenka (garden specialist) to organize this event
Big Boo Event Coordinator
One-time event position [Date TBD]; Will work with the PTA board to organize and execute our biggest family fun night of the year!
Lap-A-Thon Coordinator
One-time event position [Date TBD]; Will work with the PTA board to organize and execute the biggest fundraiser of the year !
